Vintage miniature fireplace. The fireplace is completely made of wood. I am not sure if this was made for a child long ago or just to show off the carpenter's skill. The fireplace shows wear, marks and scratches throughout. Most of the wear is at the front of the hearth. Each tile is made of wood. One tile is loose and another one looks like it has been re-glued down at some point. The decorative work on this piece is quite lovely. The underside of the fireplace has been written on but it is so faint that I cannot make it all out. I think I can read "Built __ Waterloo". The fireplace measures 18 3/4" x 11 1/4" x 9 1/2". A truly lovely piece of folk art. Please pm me for additional pictures.
