Two volume set of "The Complete Works of Thomas Dick, L.L.D." Eleven Volumes in Two. Otherwise known as Dick's Works. Published by H.S. & J. Applegate, Cincinnati, 1850. The front and back covers and spine coverings show wear and marks/light stains. There is one small area of damage on the back of volume two. There is also some damage near the top and bottom of the spine coverings. The inside of the covers and first and last blank pages show light stains and foxing throughout. The first blank page in both volumes has been written on. The pages throughout show wear and marks/light stains and some discoloration along their edges due to age. Each volume measures 9 5/8" x 6 1/2". Volume 1 contains : An essay on the improvement of society; The philosophy of religion; The mental illumination and moral improvement of mankind; An essay on the sin and evils of covetousness. Volume 2 contains: The Christian philosopher; or science and religion; Celestial scenery - illustrated, sidereal heavens, planets, etc.; The practical astronomer; The solar system - its wonders; The atmosphere and atmospherical phenomena.
