Old swagger stick/walking stick. The handle is made of horn or antler. There is an interesting x design carved into the underside of the handle. The collar has silver marks on it which are an anchor, lion, g, and 2. I believe that makes it from Birmingham, England, sterling silver and from circa 1881. The shaft of the stick shows wear and marks. The stick looks like it may have had a top cover at some point, but not at present. The piece measures approx. 22 1/2" long.
