Old settler's box/chest. This chest would have originally been made in Europe and brought over by a family immigrating to Canada. The box is dovetailed and has early hand forged hardware. The box shows wear, marks and scratches throughout. It has an interesting shape. The top boards are cupped a bit so the surface is not totally flat. The bottom boards have shrunk over time and there are some gaps between them. It is a very large and sturdy box. It measures 22 1/4" tall, a tick over 40" long and 21 1/4" deep.
