Old Ideal Postal Scale. This particular scale has some local history attached to it. The underside of the scale has a note affixed to it that reads "The scales used at the Science Hill Post Office by George Hookway". I did some research and Mr. Hookway was the Postmaster at the Science Hill Post Office from 1932-1953. That particular post office was closed for good in 1967. A nice piece for someone interested in Science Hill/ St. Mary's history. The scale shows wear and marks throughout. Some of the worn areas show light surface rust. The plastic coating over the scale number sheet has yellowed from age. It measures 6 1/2" x 6 7/8" x 4 1/8". Please pm me for additional pictures.
