Old Chiclet's advertising display box. This box would have been placed on the counter in a general store to display and sell Chiclet's chewing gum. The display is made out of cardboard and the lid, which folds down, has the advertising literature on it. There is a piece of glass which would have sat on top of the gum. The glass is present but it is broken on one side and is missing about 1/8th of it's glass. The cardboard shows wear and marks throughout. There is wear to the corners and edges and the lid has a bit of a sway/sag to it. The inside of the lid reads "Chiclets. A bouquet de creme de menthe. A dainty confection. Candy coated chewing gum particularly desirable after dinner. Made by the makers of "Fleers Pepsin Gum". Their best recommendation. Canadian Chewing Gum Co. Limited, Toronto, Canada.
